From the Back Row of History
My friend! I hope this letter finds you well and in good health – I trust that it does. I've been working on writing some stories from my wandering years and I wanted to send a note of thanks for your contribution by way of The Symposium. I'm lucky enough to have attended twice: first on March 12, 2020, the night the world changed forever; and then again in June 2023 when you kindly organized an impromptu gathering after I strolled in off the streets.
Each time, you were beyond gracious, welcoming me in for good conversations, good food, good friends, and even better wine. As I write these stories, it is clear to me that The Symposium will play a significant role in my ability to capture the threads of humanity that I find most compelling, and that is a great gift which you have given me.
I'm not sure when I'll make it back to Athens, but hopefully it is sooner rather than later. Of course, when I do, I will certainly let you know.
Please give all my best to the President, to Filia, and all of the rest of the Symposium regulars who provided me with good company and great laughs on more than one occasion. There is something very special about the Symposium, but I know you know that already – I just wanted to be sure to extend my very sincere thanks for your hospitality and kindness. Your generosity has made a lasting impact and impression on my life, and I'm lucky to call you a friend.
